This all changed when social media networks were introduced and utilized in everyday life.
Social media has allowed fans to stay informed at all times and through many different means. This overflow of information can make fans more selective, thus making the sports media industry more competitive. The constant flow of information has also altered the way sports journalists can share information with their fans, as well as the immediacy of sharing.
